Broken Rainbow

Trapped in the lush green forest on the foothill,
is soul of mine, tormented by the abysmal greed,
to break the shackles of time, to know it all,
and to reach at the top of the mountain,
every time I catch the glimpse.
Myriad attempts I make, and crawl, and writhe,
on the arduous path up the hill,
leaving myself with a thousand cuts,
every time I yield, just to start once again.
Standing at its peak now,
all I could gawk at was a gloomy sky, a ferocious cloud,
tarnished sun, and a broken rainbow,
bleeding its colors on the horizon,
writing its own eulogy on every inch of Earth it paints.
Trenches, valleys, and barren terrains,
turning to lush green forest, once again.
